You CAN Be Your Own Inspiration

Watching television, reading newspaper articles, browsing over inspirational books and listening to motivational speakers are various ways of honing inspiration.

Whether it may be something that’s sparks creativity. Or the little push you needed to get out of bed to start the day. Admit it we all need this uplifting boost called INSPIRATION.

It was the start of the week and I greeted the day right with a hearty breakfast. To cap it off, I even wore something new—newly bought from the store. Oh how that boosted my good mood even more.

Part one

As I downed my hot chocolate, a popular segment on tv was playing. I wasn’t paying much attention to what the host were saying until the guest of that segment began to share his life story.

To make the long story short. It was about a man who built his Automobile Servicing Empire with only a capital of 10 Php Pesos. (Current exchange rate is 1 USD =52.7 Php peso.)

Sounds impossible right?

But the key to his success was hard work, self promotion and balancing his accounts just right.

He started off as a one man business but later on boomed into a multimillion worth company.

His overall journey has been filled with scratches and wounds that later on left scars that would serve as a reminder of the battles he has fought, lost and won.

His battles scars bear witness to his tough journey. But his neatly pressed suit he currently wears bear testimony to the success he has achieved after years worth of hard work and effort.

What an inspiring rags to riches story right?

Part 2

Growing up, some girls often think of themselves as princesses and would dream of waiting for their knight and shinning armour to sweep them off their feet.

A few years later, these little girls would eventually grew up and see the realities that life has offer.

1. That the knight in shining armour is simply but a fantasy.

2. There are no leprechauns at the end of the rainbow.

3. Life went on despite the fact that Sleeping Beauty prettily slumbered away in her castle.

So upon waking up to the realities of life, this now disillusioned girl wipes away the remnants of childhood fantasies and stores away her tiaras and ball gowns under lock and key.

How does one fairy tale turned into a bitter and harsh reality?

This story was broken into two parts. One showed a harsh and brutal reality that later turned into a fairytale ending. The other showed the fairytale like dreams of a child crushed by the harsh reality called life.

So what I am trying to drive at is this.

There doesn’t have to be a fine line between fantasy and hard reality.

If you simply choose to pave way and create a bridge that connects fantasy and hard reality won’t you reach a more achievable mid ground?

It is what you make of your circumstance that determines the output. Whether you choose to drown in your sorrows or swim against the tide to reach the shore.

A hero doesn’t have wear a cape and mask.

And a princess doesn’t have wear a gown and a tiara

You are your own hero.

Live your own fairytale ending.

We are our own inspiration.

Will you keep the ball rolling? Let me hand off this baton to you.

How CAN you be your own kind of inspiration?

What are those treasured experiences that keep you fuelled to go and push through.

So what are your thoughts?

❤️ Eva

  1. Eva!!! you inspirational wonderful women you. I love reading your thoughts.

So the idea of inspiring ourselves is one that I whole heartedly subscribe to. If I want to change the world or inspire the world I must start with my self first change me first, inspire myself first. Then run out into the world like a man on fire that wants to play a game of hug tag with you. Haha.

Inspiring others, I have come to realize is simpler than I used to make it out to be. It boils down to fear. Am I willing to do the thing I am hoping to inspire others to do. If I go out there into the world and do the stuff that scares the crap out of me. Other people will take notice and say, “well heck Matt did it. Why can’t I?” and boom inspired.

I used to try and make it so complicated. If I want to help other people live a happy life. I better start practicing living a good life myself. Inspiration simply mean “IN THE SPIRIT” Am I in the spirit today? Heck Yes!!!!! I am.

Thank you for writing this, you are an inspiration.

    1. Wow Matt. Is it okay to call you Matt or I’m over stepping some boundaries Matthew?

I wasn’t expecting this kind of amazing reaction and reception. But this is definitely what I wanted to impart.

Be the change to see change. And I really loved this statement of yours about running into the world like a man in fire. Setting out an example is the greatest inspiration you can give out to the world.

I’m so glad this resonated with you a lot. This comment made my day. Makes me want to get interviewed by you even more. 😊

  2. Reblogged this on Davina Lyons Enterprises and commented:
Every day I seek inspiration. Sometimes it’s a rose bush, a billboard, a unassuming commentary, or a simple wave of gratitude that crosses my mind. I’m always open to the fuel of inspiration. This post that I’m reblogging is confirmation that you can be your own inspiration.

  3. Hi Eva! Loved your post! Your thoughts alone are inspirations to spread.
My motivation to keep inspired comes from being a mum. I believe by setting a good example my children too will follow in my footsteps and keep pushing themselves to achieve greater through thier lives… x

Being a mum is a big challenge itself. So setting a great example will surely follow. Continue to be a guiding light to your children.

  4. “A hero doesn’t have wear a cape and mask.
And a princess doesn’t have wear a gown and a tiara”
That’s for sure! This is pure reality!
Well written and loved how you divided it into 2 parts and showed the difference!
One of my favorite movies is “the pursuit of happyness” especially when I knew it’s a real story, I googled the real man too and watched many videos…
It’s simple, find what you love and don’t let anyone tells you that you can’t do it!
Each time I can make someone smiles or I can add something to their life, I feel motivated and inspired to conquer the world! And each time I witness someone succeeding despite all difficulties and despite the noise around them to discourage them, I feel inspired and I feel I want to do the same…
This is a great subject beautifully written 👍❤️

    1. I still haven’t seen that movie but I heard great things about it. I didn’t know it’s based on a true story.. well that makes it even more amazing.

I definitely agree with you on this . Simple things such as making someone smile is something you can’t put a price on it. It’s actually one of the best feelings you can ever hope to get. You made me smile with you true and sincere words. And most importantly you made me smile since I found a friend in you.

Thank you for you constant encouragement. You are what a writer would ever hope for in an audience. You have inspired me in many ways. 😊

Oh you should watch the movie! And tell me how many times you cried 😌
Yes based on a trues story and you can find Chris Gardner on YouTube (the real man)
Also Will Smith nailed it! Great role

  5. I definitely need those types of inspiration, and little mood boosts & pick-me-ups, whether that’s self-care, a change of scenery or a treat purchase, to keep me going during the week. This is a beautiful post & you’ve highlighted the nature of being a hero, redefined, so well. This is inspirational in itself, so thank you for sharing! xx

  6. Great work with a lot to think about. At work I keep a Me folder in my email to hold the compliments or inspirational comments I receive from my co-workers. Then on those days when life pushes back angrily, I have a go to pick me up. After reading some of these things, I remember and acknowledge that everything is ok. At home I have something similar where I electronically store favored quotes. Another way I get inspired is just by observing the beauty of nature and the world. Even when things look bad, there is always something good that happens that renews my spirit. Thank you so much for sharing and for inspiring some thinking. 🙂

That’s a really good idea.. keeping an email of inspirational comments. It would give you a boost once life becomes unreasonable. I should do that sometime. 😊

Thank you as well for sharing. I’m glad to see you again. Have a great day 😊

  8. I saw myself in both stories. The battle wounds and the waiting. My most treasured experiences that keep me fueled are my teaching career and my writing. Both of these have been journeys I have travelled by myself. In both of these journeys, I can list battle wounds.

This blog post resonates with me because lately, I’ve been going into myself to find strength, courage, and..inspiration.

As I’m writing this I’m remembering how I recently opened a fortune cookie with the message: “You are inspirational.” I think it’s hard to believe this sometimes when we think we have to do something major to be inspirational like become a millionaire or create a major movement.

    1. Im so sorry for the late reply. I took a couple days off blogging. Im so overwhelmed by your honest reply. Thank you so much for opening up. It means my writing connected with you, something which I’m very happy about.

Oh wow you are a teacher. What are you teaching? I have a lot of respect for teacher since they are responsible for giving knowledge and acting as second parents to their student. I too started teaching so I finally realised how tiring this profession could be but the rewards and fulfilment that comes after is simply a feeling that couldn’t be explained. Great is simple inadequate.

YES i definitely agree with the fortune cookie there. Nothing too major has to be done in order to be an inspiration to others…

Hope to hear from you again despite the long reply.
      Have a great day 🙂

Making a difference in the lives of our students is such a great fulfilment, something which you can’t put a price on.

  9. Well, I started working in the field of Child and Youth by 21 years old. I also had already volunteered in a shelter at 16 years old, so I did not get the luxury of seeing the world through a fantasy set of lenses! I actually admire those that can and have as it allows you to view the world as a kind place. I know there are many good people but I know the world is far from kind. I find that having these platforms, if you do reach the minds of our youth would be a great place for them to get some
Inspirational, and positive leaders! I really enjoyed reading your blog!
I am inspired by the good I see, by the positive people I meet and by those I see make change everyday!!! Enjoy your week!!

    1. Thank you so much for dropping by and sharing your thoughts and insights.

You’re right, the world is not a kind place. What’s even more sad is that each and everyone has to taste the bitter realities that life has to offer. If not, then that isn’t living.

But Seeing the kindness amidst reality is something quite admirable. What you do encompasses that even more.

I hope you would continue what you do. Continue writing. Continue reaching out and providing inspiration especially to the youth that continues to struggle and have lost their way.

Enjoy you day, enjoy your upcoming week even more! 😊
